Quartz vs granite for New England kitchens

Countertops do as much work as the cabinets. In New England kitchens we see two materials most often: quartz and granite. Both can look excellent. They live differently.

Quartz is engineered stone. It can mimic marble or natural stone, needs no sealing, and stands up to daily cooking with less fuss. That is why many Plaistow and Haverhill families pick it for a busy island.

Granite is a natural slab. Each one is unique. It is beautiful and proven, and it does need a sealant. If you want movement and a one-of-a-kind surface, granite is still a strong choice.
